Hey all,
There's been some confusion and due to the constraints of the chat feature on Tap Sports Baseball '16 I've decided to type out in full detail the tricks that I know. I'm going to attempt to break this up into sections in order to make it easier to browse. Bear with me for a while as I update and correct mistakes. Also be aware that GLU will almost definitely shut some of these down at some point.
1. Facts that you'll need to know.
A- You can collect multiple progress rewards and also multiple rank rewards both from the main event.
B- GLU attempts to keep competition fair but by doing so they created loopholes that can be exploited
C- There are several divisions full of clubs. These range from all novice super easy divisions to all 5 star money divisions. Heavy support is currently in one of the highest divisions.
D- The main competition is all about win streaks. The higher your individual rank the harder teams that you'll play. From what I've seen your individual rank really stops mattering when your win streak hits 20. You'll play some insanely good teams and you'll get some cupcakes too. Best to just keep your level low.
2. Cheats (or loopholes if you'd prefer)
A- The win streak protection cheat. If your club did well enough during the bonus game event on Thursday than you should have win streak protection. GLU made the mistake of allowing members that just joined to enjoy win streak protection also. This can be exploited. If you're club has 1x win streak protection normally if you lose 1 time you lose your protection. This is where you take advantage. Now, you leave the group and re-enter it quickly. Now the game sees you as a brand new member and you get a whole new win streak protection. Speed is the key here. Remember that your win streak has a timer. You have around 4 minutes to accomplish this. Theoretically you can have an infinite win streak but generally so you'll get to the mid 40s and get matched against a team that you can't beat probably ever.
B- The club hopping cheat. Our club is in a tough division. We probably will never finish first in the main event. If you really want/need that main event player then there is a way. This can be done solo or as an entire club. I'll go into the club way here. I'll go step by step.
1- Choose a team that doesn't really need the main event prize (I'll do this first) and make them the leader of the club. For this example we will use our club so from here on out I will just use "heavy support".
2- Choose a low ranking team ( I'll use my wife's account this weekend) and have them start a club on Sunday afternoon. Low ranking is really important. This SHOULD put us into an extremely easy division. From here on out I will call this club "heavy support 2"
3- Clubs need to be locked. This is to prevent club jumpers from joining.
4- All players (or those participating) on Sunday afternoon switch to heavy support 2.
5- Don't sleep on spying. The big clubs do this too so it's important to figure out if there's a team sandbagging. If it seems that this division is going to be too tough just go back to step 2 and try again.
6- Wait until there's only a few hours left and kill the event until you hit first place.
7- Collect your prizes in heavy support 2.
8- Leave heavy support 2 and wait for your invitation back to heavy support.
9- Enter heavy support *** very important *** then wait to collect your second set of prizes until everyone is back into heavy support.
10- You've now got double rank rewards and double progress rewards! Enjoy!
3. The forfeit trick. So I've explained this one a few times on the game but I'll put it here for everyone to read at their leasure. This trick can be very helpful if there are 2 willing teams. Fair warning though, this can be very time consuming.
A- You need 2 teams. Preferably not in the same division. Works best if the team that will be receiving the victories is in a higher division than the team forfeiting but can be done under any circumstances.
B- The team that will be receiving the victories gets the following prizes (your prizes may vary slightly: 2K cash, 4K cash, a bonus game, 50 gold, second or late round draft picks, or a franchise player coin. All pretty decent awards. Worth your time specially if you are lucky. I did hit back to back 50 gold once.
C- The team forfeiting doesn't get any of the above prizes but they do get something. GLU auto promotes based off of some combination of winning percentage and total wins. How they do this is a complete mystery to me. I know when I got my 2001st win it auto promoted me with a winning percentage just below .900 so take what you will from that. So, the team forfeiting get some extra breathing room on the auto promotions and also loses 1 division win. Losing a division win is helpful on Thursdays. When playing bonus games during the event it's very likely you will get so many wins that you will have to stop many times to forfeit the playoff games. This is very very annoying. The less division wins you go into Thursday with the better!
D- This is the easy part. The team collecting prizes just starts 2-3 games against the forfeiting team. It's important to score as quickly as you can to prevent the forfeiting team from having to play innings. You should try to score a few times in the first if you can. Once you score, it's ok just to get the inning over as soon as possible. Now the forfeiting team opens the game and hits the red circle with the slash through it in the top left of the game screen.
E- One twist that you can do is bench your good pitchers on the forfeiting team to make scoring as easy as possible for the "winning" team.
F- You're done! Rinse and repeat until you're done! Easy as pie!
Still a lot more to come guys. I appreciate your patience while I finish this up. As always let me know about any mistakes and any improvements I could make. Thanks!
